Anna Victoria Perretta

Anna Perretta has over sixteen years of experience as a Suzuki violin instructor as well as eight years of experience teaching elementary school string ensembles. She has worked extensively with students ages three to adult, students with beginner through advanced skill levels, and students with a range of disabilities. From teaching in diverse settings, she is accustomed to adapting her teaching style to fit the needs of the individual learner. Anna’s approach to teaching is meticulous, creative, and fun-loving, and she excels at giving each student the tools to achieve a high level of performance and musicianship. Her students have been accepted into orchestras across the valley including Metropolitan Youth Symphonies and the Phoenix Youth Symphonies. Anna currently teaches 4th, 5th, and 6th grade string orchestra in the Mesa School District in addition to her work as a private instructor.

Anna Perretta graduated from Arizona State University with a Master of Music in violin performance and received her Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, Anna studied suzuki pedagogy with Carol Smith, a student of John Kendall. She began playing the violin at age nine and owes a huge debt of gratitude to her teachers Katherine McLin, Christian Teal, Erin Hall, and her childhood Suzuki teacher, Joseph Kaminsky of the Kirkwood Academy of Music.
